India tests advanced Agni missile capable of carrying multiple warheads
India’s Ministry of Defense has announced that the country has successfully test-fired a new generation of advanced Agni missile from the island of Paji Abdul Kalam off the coast of Odisha.
According to reports, this missile, developed by India’s Defense Research Organization (DRDO), is capable of carrying multiple independently targetable warheads (MIRV) and can simultaneously target multiple targets across a wide area of the Indian Ocean.
The Indian Ministry of Defense said that all targets set in the test were successfully hit and that tracking data confirmed the missile’s high accuracy.
Indian officials have stated that the purpose of this test is to strengthen the country’s nuclear deterrent and enhance its defense capabilities.
