High Commission for Refugees calls for immediate attention to Afghan problems in Pakistan

The High Commission for Refugees of the Islamic Emirate has called on foreign agencies and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to hold talks with the Pakistani side on preventing problems for Afghan refugees, not harassing them and providing for their speedy return.

According to the commission, migrants returning from the Torkham route are delayed for days on the Pakistani side under various pretexts, while women, children, and the elderly are also with them and are facing numerous problems.

Officials added that the migrants were waiting in difficult conditions on the side of the roads and faced poor humanitarian conditions.

The commission has emphasized that the necessary facilities are available to attract and settle refugees within the country, and they can manage any number of returnees on a daily basis and provide the required services.
