Kazakhstan’s grain exports to Afghanistan increase significantly

Kazakhstan’s grain exports to Afghanistan have more than quadrupled in the first three months of this year, the Ministry of Transport said.

According to Kazakh media reports, grain exports to Afghanistan during this period reached 302,000 tons, which is 4.2 times more than the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s total grain exports increased by 18 percent to 3.2 million tons.

The country’s authorities have also announced plans to establish several new grain processing plants with a total capacity of 5.8 million tons per year by 2028.

This increase in exports could play an important role in strengthening trade relations between the two countries and meeting Afghanistan’s food needs.
