Shamkhani tells Al-Mayadeen Iran is ready to provide a deterrent and effective response to any thread
Ali Shamkhani, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran on the country’s Supreme National Security Council, emphasized in an interview with Al-Mayadeen Network that the Islamic Republic’s absolute priority in the current situation is full preparedness for deterrence against any threat.
Shamkhani stated that “our message is clear: any movement that indicates hostile intent on the part of the enemy will be met with a proportionate, effective and deterrent response; this response could include striking deep into the Zionist entity.”
He added that Iran does not limit the geography of confrontation solely to the sea and has prepared itself for broader and more advanced scenarios.
Shamkhani noted, “Expanding military presence in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman does not necessarily mean superiority. This region is our home and we know its geography and capabilities well.”
He also said: “We have discovered the enemy’s operational plan and have full control over it, and at the appropriate time we will strike at points that will stifle this plan.”
Shamkhani warned that if necessary, the Islamic Republic of Iran will resort to more fundamental and effective options to defend its national security and territorial integrity, and the opposing party that intends to break the will of our nation by showing power will be directly responsible for its consequences.
He concluded by emphasizing that the inevitable spread of the war to include the countries of the region should be a common concern for all parties today.
