One-month-old Palestinian baby dies in Al-Mawasi, Gaza, due to extreme cold
Palestinian news sources reported that a one-month-old baby died in the Al-Mawasi area, located in the southern Gaza Strip, due to the extreme cold and inhumane conditions in the refugee camps.
The child, who lived in makeshift tents without heating facilities, fell victim to the recent cold wave in the Gaza Strip, an area where thousands of displaced families are living without proper shelter, warm clothing, blankets, and heating fuel.
Aid organizations and human rights activists have repeatedly warned that with continued power outages, fuel shortages, and widespread destruction of infrastructure, Gaza’s children and infants are at risk of death from cold, malnutrition, and infectious diseases.
The Al-Mawasi area, which was introduced by the Israeli regime as a “safe” area, is now home to hundreds of thousands of refugees but lacks any basic facilities to cope with the harsh Palestinian winter.
