Pakistani army arrests ISIS Khorasan spokesman in border area
Pakistani media reported that the army had arrested Sultan Aziz Azzam, the spokesman of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Khorasan, in the border area between Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
On the other hand, Adil Raja, a former Pakistani army officer and journalist, had revealed in a post on X Network last October that the Pakistani army, including Sultan Aziz Azzam, was holding several ISIS leaders in its military guesthouses like political prisoners.
This report comes as Al-Marsad media reported yesterday that a person accused of attacking Chinese citizens on the Tajik border, who was allegedly sent from Pakistan, has been arrested.
Earlier, Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, told a news conference that other leaders of ISIS in Khorasan were in Pakistan and that the Pakistani government should hand them over to Afghanistan.
