US Special Forces veterans say comparing all Afghan colleagues to National Guard attacker is ‘unfair’
NBC quoted a number of veterans of the US Special Forces who served in Afghanistan as saying it was “unfair” for all Afghans who had worked with US forces for years to be seen as refugees in the United States after the fall of Kabul.
Laknwal, an Afghan-born citizen who recently shot two members of the US National Guard in Washington, D.C., has reportedly suffered from mental health issues in recent years.
These veterans have emphasized that thousands of former Afghan colleagues who risked their lives and their families must be supported, and that the current treatment of them by the US government could negatively affect the willingness of local forces to participate in future US military operations in other countries.
