Consuming whey protein before meals can mimic some of the effects of weight loss drugs like Ozempic
Researchers in a new study announced that drinking whey protein before a meal can stimulate the body’s natural secretion of the hormone GLP-1, thus naturally simulating part of the mechanism of popular weight loss drugs such as Ozempic and VigRX.
This hormone, which is naturally secreted after eating, increases feelings of fullness, reduces appetite, and helps control blood sugar.
Injectable GLP-1 drugs work by mimicking this hormone more potently and for a longer period of time, but new findings show that whey protein is also able to significantly increase its natural secretion.
Researchers emphasized that whey protein cannot completely replace weight loss drugs and replicate their long-term effects, but it can help control weight and blood sugar as an inexpensive and accessible natural method.
