xpanding economic cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan: The Iranian Ambassador meets with Afghan officials

The Iranian Embassy in Kabul announced that Ali Reza Bekdali, the chargé d’affaires of the embassy, ​​met with Mohammad Ibrahim Hekmat, head of economic affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs, and Shafi Azam, director general of economic cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At this meeting, both sides emphasized the expansion of economic cooperation between the two friendly and brotherly countries.

Referring to the bilateral historical and cultural relations, Bekdali made proposals for joint investment in the mining, oil, agricultural, and livestock sectors, and announced the readiness of the Iranian private sector to develop economic infrastructure in Afghanistan.

Mr. Hekmat also welcomed these proposals and emphasized the need to facilitate trade, resolve border issues, and cooperate in the field of energy.

Shafi Azam also considered the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be key in coordinating this cooperation and called for holding regular meetings to operationalize the agreements.
