World’s highest bridge opens in Guizhou, China

After three years of construction, China has opened the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, which is the tallest bridge in the world at 625 meters from the valley floor to the bridge surface.

This amazing bridge, which crosses the Beipan River, not only demonstrates China’s technological and engineering capabilities, but also significantly facilitates transportation routes in the region, reducing travel time from two hours to just a few minutes.

The Huajiang Bridge, with a total length of 2,900 meters and a main span of 1,420 meters, is located in Guizhou Province and is part of the Guizhou S57 Highway.

The structure, which weighs the same as three Eiffel Towers, is built with a suspended steel structure and is located in a mountainous and impoverished area to help revive the tourism economy and create extreme sports centers.

The final loading test with 96 heavy tillers was successfully completed in August 2025, and its official opening took place on Sunday (28) September (2025
