High-ranking Iranian economic delegation arrives in Kabul

A high-ranking Iranian economic and trade delegation, headed by the country’s Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, arrived in Kabul on Monday morning .

According to a press release from the Afghan Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the purpose of this visit is to identify obstacles and problems in order to develop bilateral trade, facilitate transit, and expand joint investments between the two countries.

The delegation is scheduled to meet with the Deputy Minister of Economy, the Ministers of Industry and Commerce, Mines and Petroleum, Public Works of the Islamic Emirate, and representatives of the country’s private sector.

The Iranian delegation will also travel to Herat Province to visit the mine railway and the Islam Qala port.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s press release added that the delegation includes parliamentarians, members of the private sector, and relevant Iranian officials.

It is worth noting that this trip is an important step towards strengthening economic and trade relations between Afghanistan and Iran.
