Israeli airstrikes on southern Syria

Local sources reported on the morning of Wednesday,  July 16, that multiple explosions were heard in southern Syria.

According to Al-Mayadeen Network, Israeli warplanes flew at high altitude over southern Syria for 12 minutes and then carried out a series of attacks on the outskirts of the city of “As-Sweida”.

According to the report, Israeli warplanes targeted a Grad rocket launcher west of Al-Sweida that was firing towards the city.

Al-Mayadeen, citing its sources, added that the attacks also targeted the supply lines of military groups affiliated with the Syrian interim Ministry of Defense outside of Sweida and around Daraa.

Further details on the extent of damage or possible casualties from these attacks have not yet been reported.
