Afghan Ministry of Defense announces airstrikes on ISIS centers in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The Ministry of National Defense has issued a press release announcing that the country’s air forces carried out airstrikes last night against centers affiliated with the ISIS group and what it calls “evil and corrupt elements” in the provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
According to the ministry’s announcement, a joint center of ISIS and opposition elements in the Saranan area of Pishin district of Balochistan province has been targeted by an airstrike; according to the Ministry of Defense, this center was used to plan and coordinate attacks and destructive activities in Afghanistan.
The Afghan Ministry of Defense also announced airstrikes in the Qambarkhel area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Garm Cheshma area of the Shah Salim Valley of Chitral, saying that these centers were also used to plan attacks against civilians in Afghanistan.
The ministry added that, based on initial information, these attacks caused heavy casualties and damage to ISIS members, armed elements, and their supporters, and that the intended targets were accurately targeted.
The Ministry of National Defense has emphasized that the country’s air forces will target any location used to disrupt Afghanistan’s security.
