South Korea:We will never go to war against Iran

South Korean President Lee Jae-myung announced that Seoul will not send any military equipment or capacity to West Asia that would drag the country into a war against Iran.

He said the South Korean government is also considering increasing its role in ensuring shipping security and safe passage of ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

This position was announced after US President Donald Trump had previously said that he had asked Seoul to participate in Washington’s actions against Iran, while South Korea has not yet made a decision to send military forces to the region.

Seoul had previously sent a survey team to the United Arab Emirates to assess the security situation in the Strait of Hormuz.
