Reports of torture and sexual abuse of detainees from the Samood flotilla by Israeli soldiers
The “Justice” Legal Center has announced that a number of lawyers from the center, along with a team of volunteer lawyers, have provided legal advice services to hundreds of detainees from the Samood flotilla.
According to the center’s statement, the detainees were subjected to severe violence, sexual harassment, and serious injuries by the Zionist forces after the fleet was seized.
The center added that lawyers left the port of Ashdod after meeting with a number of detainees, while severe restrictions prevented full access to all detainees.
According to the center, all of the detainees were initially subjected to the measures of the Israeli Immigration Service, and then most of them were transferred to the “Ketsiot” prison.
The statement said the legal team had documented systematic violations of legal processes as well as widespread physical, psychological, and sexual harassment.
The Justice Legal Center has also announced that dozens of complaints have been filed about severe violence, and in some cases, this violence has caused serious injuries, such that at least three people were taken to the hospital before being released.
