Russia seizes American tank from Ukrainian army

As concerns about Russia’s continued advances in Sumy, Ukraine, escalated, Russian troops captured two American Abrams tanks in the city.

The advance of Russian forces continued on Wednesday (June 4) in the northern Ukrainian city of Sumy after seizing more than 150 square kilometers of territory in less than two weeks.

Despite the resumption of peace talks, the war in Ukraine is escalating, and the Russian army recorded its fastest advance in six months in May.

According to Reuters, Russian forces currently control about a fifth of Ukraine.

Russia announced in April that it had expelled Ukrainian forces from the Kursk border region, and Vladimir Putin has ordered his forces to follow up by creating a buffer zone in Ukraine’s Somi region.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces have captured the town of Kinder-Etyuka and are now 25 to 30 kilometers from the city of Somi.
