Vance acknowledged on Friday evening during the 2025 graduation ceremony and commencement of the United States Naval Academy: “In the wake of the Cold War, the United States often enjoyed undisputed command over common affairs such as air and space, sea, space and cyberspace, but the era of undisputed US dominance in the world is over.”
According to the Associated Press, US Vice President Donald Trump continued his speech, referring to the power and superiority of Russia and China, adding: “The United States faces serious threats, and countries like China and Russia are determined to defeat it in every area, from low Earth orbit to supply chains and even communication infrastructure.”
Vance emphasized: The Trump administration is committed to maintaining and expanding America’s technological superiority over its adversaries around the world.
