Israeli election vote count ends, Netanyahu’s coalition falls short of majority

The Central Election Committee of the Israeli regime has announced that the counting of votes in the regime’s parliamentary elections has ended, and the coalition led by Benjamin Netanyahu, with 53 seats in the 120-member Knesset, failed to gain a parliamentary majority.

According to the final results, the opposition coalition led by Gadi Eisenkot won 48 seats and the Arab parties won a total of 19 seats. To achieve a majority and form a cabinet, it is necessary to win at least 61 seats.

These results have left Netanyahu’s coalition facing a significant reduction in seats and have made the future of government formation dependent on political negotiations and gaining support from other parties; Arab parties, with 19 seats, may play a decisive role in the equations of cabinet formation.

Netanyahu will remain as prime minister until the new government is formed and begins work. The election results are scheduled to be presented to the president of this regime after final reviews.
