Israeli Knesset elections begin, Netanyahu’s political future in limbo
The Israeli parliamentary elections have begun today, Tuesday (5th of Aqraba 1405), an election that could affect Benjamin Netanyahu’s political future and his continued presence in power. This is the first Israeli parliamentary election since the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
Opinion polls indicate a close race between Netanyahu and his political rivals, indicating that he will face difficulty in maintaining a parliamentary majority.
The Israeli parliament has 120 seats, and since no single party holds an absolute majority, forming a government requires a coalition between the parties, a process that could take several weeks.
