Pete Hegst: Only a few NATO member states contributed significantly to the invasion of Afghanistan

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegsett has said that out of the approximately 50 countries participating in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, only about five countries had a significant contribution to military operations.

Speaking at the University of Tennessee, Hegst said that membership in a military coalition does not just mean raising a flag, but that countries must also have a strong army with advanced equipment and the ability to carry out military aggression.

He added that the flags of about 50 countries participating in the ISAF mission were flying at the NATO office in Kabul, but according to him, only about five countries had a significant role in the aggression, and among them, only one or two countries played a prominent role in the war aggression.
