Russian strategic bomber upgraded with advanced automated systems
A test pilot from the developer of the Russian Tu-95MSM bomber has said that the upgraded aircraft will be able to carry out some stages of a predetermined flight path automatically, without direct pilot intervention.
The upgraded bomber is equipped with newer engines, advanced avionics, better navigation systems, and improved weapons capabilities; changes that expand the capabilities of the original Tu-95MS model.
According to the pilot, the new equipment allows for better monitoring of the land, sea, and air environment and reduces the crew’s workload; the goal of this upgrade is to increase the operational life of the aircraft and strengthen Russia’s long-range strategic aviation capabilities.
