Gas prices in Europe exceed $1,000 for the first time since December 2022

The price of natural gas in Europe has exceeded $1,000 per thousand cubic meters for the first time since December 2022.

Reports indicate that Europe is facing rising energy prices and dwindling gas reserves, and needs more than 100 TWh of additional gas to reach the targeted storage level of 75%.

According to the report, to replenish reserves before the cold season, Europe will need an unprecedented speed in gas injection, a situation not seen at this stage of the season since the 2022 energy crisis.
