Two workers trapped in a tunnel at a Nepalese hydroelectric power plant following an accident have been rescued after nine days and taken to a military hospital in Kathmandu for treatment.
Nepal’s disaster management authorities have announced that the death toll from the country’s deadly floods has reached 1,287, with another 5,083 people still missing.
These floods began after a massive ice and rock slide in the Nepal-China border region, causing heavy damage to residential areas, roads, and infrastructure.
Search and rescue operations are continuing, and given the high number of missing people, there is a possibility that the death toll will increase.
