The India-Afghanistan Joint Working Group on Trade, Commerce and Investment was held in a virtual meeting yesterday (1) September (2026), and the two sides discussed ways to increase bilateral trade and strengthen economic relations.
Facilitating customs cooperation, issuing visas for traders, banking and financial cooperation, trade in pharmaceuticals and agricultural products, energy, investment, tariff concessions, transportation of goods, and issues related to ports were among the topics of this meeting.
The two sides emphasized the exchange of customs information, regulatory coordination in the agricultural and pharmaceutical sectors, improving trade routes, and creating new areas for investment and cooperation between companies from the two countries.
India and Afghanistan emphasized continuing contacts and pursuing the issues raised and deepening trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Kabul and New Delhi.
