A Fox News reporter on the X network, citing an American source, claimed that Iran had targeted American forces stationed in Jordan.
Reuters quoted the reporter as saying that the attack has had a “significant impact” so far, with some incoming missiles having been intercepted so far.
Previously, some Arab and Iranian media outlets reported hearing several explosions in the Aqaba region in southern Jordan, but Jordanian authorities have not yet provided details about these explosions.
The reports come after the US attacked two Iranian launchers on Lark Island, an attack to which the Revolutionary Guards have said they will respond.
