Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Gu Jiaqun called on the United States to stop expanding its military capabilities in space and take practical measures to maintain global strategic stability.
The comments came after US Air Force Secretary Troy Mink announced that the United States had deployed “space control weapons” in Earth orbit, although Washington did not provide details on the type or capabilities of these weapons.
China has also stated its opposition to turning space into a battlefield and has called for preventing the formation of an arms race in space.
