Saudi Arabia announces discovery of 110 million tons of uranium-containing ore

Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman has announced the discovery of 110 million tons of raw rock containing uranium veins in the Medina region.

These reserves were identified during exploration operations and geological studies in the “Jabal Sayed” project, and according to Saudi officials, in addition to uranium, they also contain significant amounts of rare earth elements.

This discovery was made within the framework of Saudi Arabia’s plan to develop the mining sector, diversify its sources of income, and meet the needs of the country’s peaceful nuclear program within the framework of “Vision 2030.”
