Saudi Arabia shuts down East-West pipeline after drone attacks
The Saudi Foreign Ministry has announced that the “East-West” oil pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions has been targeted following several drone attacks launched from Iraq.
According to the Saudi Ministry of Energy, the pipeline has been closed as a precaution, and as a result of the attacks, several people have been injured and are receiving medical care. Rescue and technical teams are also assessing the damage and the condition of the facilities.
Saudi Arabia has emphasized that it reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect the country’s sovereignty, security, and facilities.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi government has condemned the attacks on Saudi Arabia and emphasized its opposition to any action that endangers the country’s security.
