The Wall Street Journal reported that US President Donald Trump has ordered an investigation into the leak of classified Pentagon information following reports of a reduction in the country’s ammunition stockpiles during the war with Iran.
According to this report, the White House continues to emphasize that the US military has sufficient weapons capability for any military operation.
The Wall Street Journal added that Trump is extremely unhappy with the publication of reports about the reduction of US missile and ammunition stocks and believes that these reports could weaken Washington’s position against Iran.
The newspaper also quoted senior US government officials as saying that media reports in recent weeks had deeply disturbed Trump, with one official saying that the negative media headlines had “driven him crazy.”
