US: ISIS Khorasan threat remains a serious concern
The United States has warned that the threat from terrorist groups, especially ISIS Khorasan, remains a serious concern and that instability provides an opportunity for these groups to expand their activities.
Tammy Bruce, the US deputy ambassador to the United Nations, said at a Security Council meeting that combating ISIS, Al-Qaeda and their affiliates remains one of Washington’s top priorities. She added that these groups are exploiting instability and that the threat of ISIS Khorasan in Afghanistan continues.
These statements come at a time when the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has repeatedly denied the existence and activities of terrorist groups in the country and emphasized that it will not allow Afghan soil to be used against the security of other countries.
