United States Federal Court of Accession helped the families of a number of Afghan refugees

A federal court in the United States has ruled that the US government’s travel restrictions cannot prevent the spouses and children of a number of Afghan immigrants from reuniting with their families.

Based on the court’s ruling, the US State Department has been ordered to issue travel documents to the families of five Afghan plaintiffs within 15 days and to reconsider the applications of other eligible families, regardless of travel restrictions.

The court also ordered the Ministry of State to submit a progress report on the implementation of this order every two weeks until the family members arrive in the United States.

The case was filed after a complaint was filed by Afghan families living in Virginia, who said they had filed applications to join their relatives before the travel restrictions were imposed.
