The UK Maritime Trade Operations Centre (UKMTO) has announced that an oil tanker has suffered damage to its engine room and lost control after a projectile hit it off the coast of Oman.
At the same time, the British Maritime Organization has claimed that Iran last night targeted another oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz while it was passing through a route protected by the United States.
So far, Iranian officials have not commented on these claims, and no further details have been released about the extent of the damage or the condition of the crews of these tankers.
