Erdogan: Attacks on Lebanon undermine regional peace process

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the recent Israeli attacks in Gaza and Lebanon, stating that these events have inflicted deep wounds on the conscience of humanity and have also tarnished the reputation of international institutions and organizations.

Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is closely following developments and attacks against Lebanon because these actions could endanger the peace and stability process in the region.

Referring to the Palestine crisis, he stated that this issue remains at the center of tensions in the Middle East and that until the occupation ends and the seizure of Palestinian lands stops, lasting peace will not be established in the region.

Erdogan also supported the understanding between Iran and the United States, considering it an opportunity to reduce tensions and create breathing space for the international community; he warned that new attacks and tensions, especially in Lebanon, should not be allowed to destroy this opportunity.
