European Commission: Only Afghan migrants who commit crimes will be deported

Markus Lammert, spokesperson for the European Commission, announced that European countries will only deport Afghan citizens who have committed crimes and pose a threat to the security of member states.

He clarified that deciding on the expulsion of immigrants is within the competence of each EU member state, and these countries act independently in this matter.

According to Lammert, the European Commission only facilitates the expulsion process and related technical discussions and does not directly intervene in the final decision-making of member states.

These statements come as a delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is scheduled to leave Turkey for Brussels, the capital of Belgium, on Tuesday, 23th of June.
