Security Council to hold meeting on extension of UNAMA mission in Afghanistan

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has announced that the United Nations Security Council will hold a meeting tomorrow (June 15) to review the future of the organization’s mission in Afghanistan.

According to the UNAMA announcement, the members of the Security Council will discuss and decide on the continuation of the organization’s activities and extension of its mission in Afghanistan at this meeting.

UNAMA’s current mission in Afghanistan ends on June 16, and the Security Council is expected to vote on its extension.
