With the issuance of a joint decree by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the process of building a nuclear power plant in the country officially began.

The inauguration ceremony of this project was held in the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan, attended by officials from both countries and Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

This project is being implemented within the framework of strategic cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan in the energy sector and aims to increase electricity generation capacity and strengthen energy security in Central Asia.
