Kabulov: Military agreement with Afghanistan focuses on refurbishing Russian equipment
Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s special representative for Afghanistan, has said that the military-technical agreement signed between Afghanistan and Russia focuses mainly on the repair, reconstruction, and maintenance of Russian-made military equipment in Afghanistan.
In an interview with the RIA Novosti news agency, Kabulov stated that, according to Russian law, signing such agreements is necessary for any military and technical cooperation between countries.
He added that this document provides the necessary legal framework for expanding military-technical cooperation between the two sides.
Afghanistan and Russia signed an agreement last week aimed at strengthening cooperation in the military and technical sectors.
