In an interview with Fox News, US President Donald Trump claimed that Washington and Tehran are close to reaching a very good agreement.
While reiterating his positions on Iran’s nuclear program, Trump stated that he prefers a diplomatic solution to other options and continues to consider negotiations the best path to resolving disputes.
He also described the Iranian negotiators as experienced and professional, saying that the process of talks takes time and that there is no rush to reach an agreement.
In another part of his speech, the US President claimed that American forces would leave the region after the Strait of Hormuz was reopened and the investigation into the Iranian nuclear issue was concluded.
Iranian officials have not yet officially responded to Trump’s new statements.
