Nigerian media have reported that 42 students have been kidnapped by gunmen in the northeast of the country.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident, but this region is one of the areas where Boko Haram and ISIS West Africa operate.
According to reports, in addition to fighting terrorist groups, the Nigerian government is also facing widespread pressure to combat criminal gangs and armed bandits, groups that are mostly financially motivated and carry out kidnappings and armed attacks.
