India tests new generation Agni missile capable of simultaneously targeting multiple targets

India successfully test-fired an upgraded version of the Agni-5 ballistic missile, which is capable of hitting multiple targets simultaneously.

The missile was launched from a military base in the Bay of Bengal and, according to India’s Defense Research and Development Organization, hit various targets in a wide area of ​​the Indian Ocean.

The new Agni missile is a three-stage, solid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile equipped with MIRV technology, a technology that allows the simultaneous carrying and firing of multiple warheads at different targets.

Indian officials have described the test as part of the country’s program to strengthen deterrence and develop advanced defense technologies.
