US sanctions three Chinese companies for satellite cooperation with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard

The United States has sanctioned three private Chinese companies for allegedly providing satellite imaging services to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

According to reports, the companies “The Chang”, “Earth Eye”, and “MizarVision” have been accused by Guang Satellite Technology of providing satellite images and information used by Iranian forces.

The Financial Times reported that Washington has accused these companies of helping to identify military targets for the United States and its allies in the Middle East.

American officials have said that these sanctions were imposed as part of pressure on institutions and companies that directly or indirectly support Iran’s military activities.
