Passenger bus plunges into sea in Bangladesh, killing 23

Bangladeshi authorities have announced that at least 23 people have died after a passenger bus fell into the sea.

According to a report by the Hindustan Times, the incident occurred yesterday in Rajbari district in southwestern Bangladesh when a bus carrying about 50 passengers lost control and fell into the Padma River while trying to transfer to a ferry.

The source also wrote that among the victims were 11 women, eight children, and four men.

Rescue and search operations are continuing to find the missing people, and relief forces are on the scene in cooperation with the police and army.

According to officials, a number of passengers were able to swim to safety, but many others were trapped inside the bus.

Local authorities have announced that an investigation team has been appointed to investigate the cause of the incident.
