FIFA fines and sanctions the Israeli Football Federation for discrimination and violation of disciplinary rules

After reviewing the claims of the Palestine Football Federation at the 74th FIFA Congress, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee condemned the Israeli Football Federation for repeated violations of Articles 13 and 15 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, including offensive conduct, violations of the principles of fair play, and racist abuse.

The regime’s Football Federation was sentenced to pay a fine of 150,000 Swiss francs, received an official warning, and was ordered to implement a comprehensive anti-discrimination prevention plan.

According to FIFA’s ruling, the federation must display a highly visible banner with the slogan “Football unites the world, not discrimination” at its next three home matches in FIFA A-level competitions. The size, design and location of the banner must be approved by FIFA before each match.

One third of the fine (50,000 Swiss francs) must be invested

within 60 days to implement anti-discrimination programs (reforms, monitoring protocols and educational campaigns in stadiums and official channels for a full season), the remainder of the fine must be paid within 30 days.

FIFA stressed that football has a responsibility to promote dignity, equality and mutual respect, especially in times of conflict and tension. The decision is still subject to appeal to the FIFA Appeal Committee, and the ruling has been published on the FIFA Legal Portal.
