New Sinaloa Cartel boss: We supply the world with drugs
Ismael “El Alemizo” Zambada, who is known as the new leader of the Sinaloa Cartel after the arrest of his brothers, announced in a threatening and public message that “we supply the world’s drugs and bring money to the Mexican government. Many military personnel and officials cooperate with us, and we generate income for the country.”
He continued in a threatening tone: “If you disturb our work again, we will leave you with nothing called Mexico on the eve of the 2026 World Cup!”
These statements, published in channels close to the cartel, directly target the Mexican and American governments and implicitly refer to the cooperation of parts of the security institutions with the cartels.
The “threat to the destruction of Mexico” ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, has raised serious security concerns internationally and could increase pressure on the Mexican government to take a more serious stance against cartels.
