140 killed in US anti-drug attacks; Amnesty International says toll continues to rise

Amnesty International announced that 11 more people were killed in recent illegal US attacks in the Caribbean and Pacific, bringing the total number of victims of these attacks to more than 140.

The organization emphasized that the US military operation under the guise of “fighting drug trafficking” in these areas is being carried out without international legal authorization and in clear violation of human rights and the laws of war, and has led to heavy civilian casualties.

Amnesty International called for an immediate halt to these attacks, an independent international investigation, and accountability of US officials for the reported crimes. So far, no official statement has been issued by Washington regarding the increase in the death toll.
