Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton got into a heated verbal argument with Czech Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the country’s right-wing party, Petr Masinka, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference over Donald Trump’s approach.
Clinton accused Trump of betraying traditional Western values and institutions and considered his actions a serious threat to the liberal global order.
He emphasized that Trump has betrayed the West, human values, NATO, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. “A lot has already been done to make us understand that it is difficult to contain people who want unaccountable power.”
In contrast, Peter Masinka described Trump’s actions not as betrayal but as necessary reforms to counter liberal excesses and defended America’s new approaches to foreign and security policy.
This verbal confrontation reflects a deep divide among Western political elites over their assessment of Trump’s policies and the future of traditional alliances like NATO.
