Experts warn the use Long-term exposure to AI can strain mental health

Steve Yeghe, a former Amazon and Google engineer, has warned that the workload caused by artificial intelligence tools could push software engineers to the brink of burnout much faster than in the past.

He explains that even the best engineers can only devote about three hours a day to high-energy, flow-based coding with AI at maximum capacity and focus.

According to Yega, continuing this intense rhythm causes energy depletion, extreme fatigue, irritability, and even the need for short naps during the day.

He emphasizes that setting work boundaries, learning to say “no” and managing the use of AI are essential to maintaining mental health.

Yege points out that the initial excitement of AI tools and the high speed of output generation is very attractive, but this speed also creates a heavy psychological burden that many engineers are experiencing.

He believes that companies and managers should also accept this natural limitation to prevent widespread workforce burnout.

This warning is part of a growing debate about AI fatigue and its impact.

“Vampire is artificial intelligence that increases productivity but at the cost of people’s mental health and energy.”
