Israel Hume: Trump and Netanyahu’s recent meeting was the most unusual
The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom described the recent meeting between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the “most unusual” meeting between the two sides.
The newspaper wrote that unlike previous meetings, this meeting was held with deliberate secrecy and calm, and the attempt to instill a calm and cautious atmosphere in public opinion was in complete contrast to what took place behind closed doors.
Trump and Netanyahu’s meeting at the White House focused mainly on the Gaza-Iran issue and regional issues.
A political analyst on Hebrew Channel 12 emphasized that Trump has not yet made his final decision on the Iran issue, and the importance of this meeting lies precisely in this.
He added that the leaders of Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are pressuring Trump to prevent the decision to attack Iran, and some of them will travel to Washington next week to warn Trump that Netanyahu is provoking him to start a war.
A military analyst on the same channel also said that there is serious concern in Israel that the Americans will ignore Israel’s interests, especially the missile program, in possible negotiations with Iran.
