Chinese Defense Ministry Spokesperson: Any armed force that starts a war in the name of Taiwan independence will be destroyed
Jiang Bin, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, stressed that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will completely destroy any armed force that tries to start a war under the pretext of Taiwan independence.
He added that Beijing will respond seriously, decisively and effectively to any provocative and separatist actions and will not make any concessions.
These statements come after Taiwan News reported earlier that the Taiwanese military plans to deploy advanced HIMARS missile systems in Pinghu and Dongyin.

The deployment of these precision, long-range missile systems on strategic islands near China’s coast has been assessed by the Chinese government as a provocative act and a direct threat to China’s national security.
A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Defense reiterated Beijing’s principled position on one China and warned that any attempt to change the status quo or play with fire would have grave consequences.
