Detainees confess to failed assassination attempt on FSB General Alekseev, agent recruited and trained by SBU
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that Lyubomir Korba and Viktor Vasin, two detainees in connection with the assassination attempt on General Alekseev, have fully confessed to their guilt.
According to the FSB report, the main perpetrator of the assassination attempt in August 2025 was recruited by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and underwent shooting training at a military base in Kiev.
The FSB emphasized that the agent was recruited with the cooperation and assistance of Polish special organizations, and that the direct order to carry out the assassination was issued by the SBU.
The Russian Security Service added that the SBU had set a reward of $30,000 for the successful assassination of General Alekseev.
These confessions and published details are part of an ongoing FSB investigation into organized attempts to assassinate Russian military officials.
